We at SiQ have been extremely blessed during the past year and have managed to date to rise above the current economic conditions. The Cape Lines project involves capturing some of the water and sewer infrastructure of the Municipality of Cape Town in a GIS environment.

This will be a two year project, digitising water and sewer pipelines including features such as manholes, hydrants and valves in point and line features.  All digitising will be done from “As-built” drawings that are scanned and geo-referenced to accurately digitise the features in a GIS platform.  From the digitising, the attributes of all the line and point entities must be captured accurately and in such a way making the information as valuable as possible for the Municipality to use in their planning and day to day operations.  In this process it is also important to transfer the skills of SiQ to those who will be working with this information on daily bases.
